We are happy to share that our Húy̓at – Our Voices, our Land won the 2019 Best Interactive Media award by the International Society for Visual Anthropology (SVA). It’s been an honour to work so intimately with the Heiltsuk Nation and Jennifer Carpenter from the Heiltsuk Cultural Education Centre, Dr. Dana Lepofsky (SFU, Dept. of Archaeology) and Dr. Nancy Turner (University of Victoria) over several seasons on the making our Húy̓at project. We have also been selected to open the programme of the 2019 SVA Film & Media Festival in Vancouver in November and are very much looking forward to that event!
Mark and Iris Wunsch brought Greencoast Media to coastal British Columbia in 2010. Our passion for connecting people with land, ocean, and local culture defines our mission: instilling wonder and connection with the rich world around us and the natural and cultural diversity that is so essential for our future.
Driven by curiosity and innovation, we combine the best technologies with modern design and various forms of media for a unique interactive exhibit, website, or app. We help to share the many untold stories spanning from ancient wisdom to the latest scientific findings and solutions.
Our background in life sciences, communication, and media production, as well as many years of international experience in different cultural settings, enable us to adapt sensibly to different contexts. We are very passionate about working with Indigenous people, NGOs, governments, institutions, and companies across the country and across borders and value especially the long-lasting relationships with our clients.
Our team and network of specialists, programmers, and fabricators develops solutions from concept to product – turnkey productions out of one hand. Do YOU have a project idea? Just drop us a line and we will be happy to explore options.
We truly acknowledge the privilege and honour to live and work on the territory of the Li'qwala-speaking people and are proudly assisting them in telling their stories and sharing their achievements.
